London and The Houses of Parliament

On Thursday 30th April, members of the School and Eco Council from Year 2 – 6 travelled to London for the day. After a late start because a of delayed train and a two very hectic tube journeys, we managed to make it to the Houses of Parliament.

Despite being late for our tour around Parliament, our tour guide was ready and waiting for us. We learnt and saw so much but were not allowed to take photos inside Parliament.

After our tour we managed a quick stop in the gift shop and then set off on a walk/sprint through the streets of London in order to get to our river cruise on time. We just made it! The London Eye River Cruise was fabulous, giving us a change to have a rest, eat our lunch and see the sights of London.

After the cruise, we had a slightly more leisurely walk through St. James’ Park, up the Mall to Buckingham Palace in time to get the tube back to Euston.

Our tea at Prezzo just outside Euston Station was much needed and extremely delicious. Unfortunately, we didn’t have time for our pudding! It’s a good job we didn’t try to squeeze it in though or we would have missed our train home!

A fantastic, memorable day was had by all and the adults were extremely proud of each and every one of the children! A big thank you to Mr Butlin, Mrs Turner, Mrs Nicks and Mr Thomas for all their help and an enormous thank you to all the children who came on the trip for being such a credit to the school.

It was really fun day which I know our pupils enjoyed. For one or two it was their first trip to the capital. This is just one of the ways our excellent teachers create memories for our pupils.
